Challenge: A comprehensive revision of the 1946 Los Angeles Zoning Code covering almost 500 square miles and impacting 4 million people.

Outcome:

• A modular zoning code that completely separates urban form from use.
• An innovative bonus system that rationalizes community desires and cost to the developer.
• A regulatory toolkit for use by Community Planners as the City plans and rezones over the next 6 years.
• A web-based code summary system providing only the details needed for a specific property.
